Seminar « RFWild´s design flow, design examples and perspectives » by Prof. Atonio Souza (Federal University of Paraíba)

Prof. Antonio Souza (Federal University of Paraíba, Brazil) delivered a seminar on Thursday 14 November 2024 entitled « RFWild´s design flow, design examples and perspectives Microwave » at the University of Limoges.

Abstract. In this presentation for a general audience, I will share the experience of RFWild laboratory in designing Si and SiGe RFICs, ranging from 2.4 up to 100 GHz. After a brief introduction of the lab, we will explore the features of a SiGe technology intended for RF/Microwave applications, along with the (typical) RF design flow we adopted at RFWild. We will discuss the main challenges and pitfalls in several successful and few unsuccessful designs.

Biography. Antonio Souza received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electronics from the Federal University of Campina Grande, Brazil, in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics from the University of Limoges, France, in 2008. Since 2009, he has been with the Federal University of Paraíba, Brazil, where he is currently a member of the RFWild Laboratory. His research interests concern experimental characterization and compact modeling of microwave devices, low-frequency noise, and RFIC design.
