EMIMEP Adminsitrative Staff Week held in Brescia

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Microwave Electronics and Photonics (EMIMEP) marked a significant milestone with its first Administrative Staff Week, held from July 7th to 11th, 2025, at the University of Brescia, Italy. This event brought together administrators, faculty, and staff from partner institutions to foster collaboration, share best practices, and discuss the future of the EMIMEP program.

A Week of Engagement and Learning

The week kicked off with the arrival of participants on Monday, followed by a day of registration, introductions, and presentations on Tuesday. Frédéric Fabre, EMIMEP project manager, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master, highlighting its goals, structure, and vision for the future. The day also featured discussions on international student support services, addressing cultural challenges and best practices, led by Giulia Felicioli, Elena Turelli (UNIBS), and Frédéric Fabre.

Participants enjoyed a guided tour of Brescia and a networking dinner, providing an opportunity to connect in a relaxed setting.

Exploring Innovation, Jointness and Collaboration

On Wednesday, the focus shifted to the EMIMEP joint diploma and its roadmap, with Frédéric Fabre leading the discussion. The afternoon featured a trip to Iseo Lake, offering participants a chance to explore the natural beauty of the region while continuing their networking.

Thursday was dedicated to student admission processes and the role of Artificial Intelligence in student management, with Frédéric Fabre sharing insights on leveraging technology for administrative efficiency. Camila Casal (Università Iuav di Venezia) led a session on attracting and retaining international students, followed by a closing session and a visit to the Santa Giulia Museum.

Building a Stronger EMIMEP  « Administrative » Community

The week concluded with the departure of participants, who could leave with new connections, ideas, and a shared commitment to advancing the EMIMEP program. The event underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and cultural exchange in shaping the future of microwave electronics and photonics education, not only for the academic staff but also for the administrative staff.
